Hattie (Beenken) Ubben, daughter of Henry Beenken and Grace Pals Beenken, was born April 30, 1888, south of Lakota, Iowa. She passed away at the Buffalo Center Timely Mission Nursing Home on December 21, 1985 reaching the age of 97 years, 7 months and 21 days.

She attended school in the rural area. On Feb 19, 1919 she was united in marriage to Fred Ubben. They farmed on her fathers farm south of Lakota until 1932 when they moved to their own farm East of Lakota. Her husband passed away October 1949.

In 1952 she retired to Buffalo Center, Iowa. She entered the Nursing home in 1977. She was a lifeong member of the Ramsey Reformed Church of Titonka and taught Sunday School for many years.

She leaves to mourn her departure, her son Harol and daughter-in-law Anita, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two half brothers, Gene of Albert Lea, Minnesota, Heiko of Emmetsburg, Iowa and one half-sister, Elizabeth Edwards of Armstrong Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four children, all who died in infance, five brotheres, three half-brothers and one half sister.
