Biography reproduced from page 491 of Volume II of the History of Kossuth County written by Benjamin F. Reed and published in 1913:

Edward F. Rahm is the popular and efficient cashier of the People’s Saving Bank of St. Benedict, Iowa. He was born in Kossuth county, this state, one-half a mile from St. Benedict, July 14, 1887, and is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Rahm. He received his early education in the Kossuth Catholic parochial school and later continued his studies for two years in the Highland Park College at Des Moines. Immediately following his graduation he returned to St. Benedict and there engaged in the general mercantile business with his father, in which he continued for some time, and later was given employment in the People’s Savings Bank, of which his father, Joseph Rahm, is vice president. In May, 1907, he accepted the position of cashier of the bank and since that time has given his exclusive attention to the interests of the banking business. In addition to his interests in the bank he and his brother are joint owners of the Rahm Brothers Creamery, a business in which they have been associated since 1909.

In September, 1911, Mr. Rahm was united in marriage to Miss Genevieve Schemmel, a native of Irvington township, Kossuth county. Mr. Rahm is affiliated with the democratic party and is a member of the local parish of the Catholic church at St. Benedict, and is also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He is one of the enterprising young men of this part of the state and fills his important position in the People’s Savings Bank, which is one of the solid and well known financial institutions of Kossuth county, with ability and circumspection.
