William J. Trueblood (b. 1808)

TRUEBLOOD

Widely reported to have moved to Chariton County from Keokuk in the early 1860s and to have died there in Salisbury, Mo. January 30, 1864. However, no other member of his family (including his then-wife Mary Brown) seems to have to made the journey with him and there is no gravestone in Missouri. Also IAWebGen reports that he transferred property in Lancaster Twnshp., called the Trueblood cemetery, to his son Benjamin in 1866. No gravestone for William exists in this cemetery either (although his two prior wives are buried there). Anyone with insight into this riddle please contact me! Thank you.
