My great grandmother is Johana Maria Fredricka Brandenburg born in 1858 in Prussia, traveling with her parents to America in the fall of 1864 and settling in Iowa. In 1873 Johana married Anton Francis Kreucher from Kreuzberg, Germany, settling in Clinton County Iowa the city of Lyons. In 1880, Johana's mother came to live with tham. Unfortunately there is no first name on my great great grandmothers death certificate. She is buried in Oakland Cemetery in Clinton in an unmarked grave. We know that she died in November of 1880,and that she was born about 1828. I am very interested in finding this family. The other two pieces of folklore about this family are - that Johana had a sister name Katherine, going by Kate, perhaps Maria Katherine? She married a policeman we think, named Henderson, or Hendrickson. The last piece was that after Mrs Brandenburg passed away in 1880 her husband may have remarried and lived in Dewitt Ia.
