I am looking for the Criminal records that where made in US Court South District of Iowa. I found that the records could be house at Keokuk.
I have an ancestor David Anderson who committed a crime for passing counterfeit money. This man spent 4 months in jail. from 25 July 1893 to 14 May 1893. It mentions that he was a Baptist, has dark skin, nativity of Missouri, single. This information was taken out of the Fort Madison Iowa Consecutive Registers of Convicts at the Men's Penitentiary. There was a number in the book before his name 5699. It also mentions that he comes from US Court South District Iowa
It there is any one willing to look up this information at a LDS search center. Please contact me. I found a index on Familysearch that there is a microfilm for that time period.
Or maybe someone can tell what kind of information this microfilm will hold.
