Alfred and Goldie Waddell are mourning the loss of their little daughter Ione, who died Monday at 12 o'clock, of membranous croup, aged 2 years, 2 months and 21 days. Little Ione was the idol of their home and was sick only two days when she was called away. Her remains were laid away Tuesday afternoon in the Waddell cemetery near Springfield. The parents have the sympathy of the entire neighborhood in their sad bereavement (Oskaloosa Herald, Dec. 14, 1905, p. 4)
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Thatcher were summoned to the Alfred Waddell home Monday afternoon on account of the death of the little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Waddell. Death was caused by membranous croup, and no public funeral was held. The little body was laid away in the Waddell cemetery at one o'clock Tuesday (The Oskaloosa Herald, Dec. 14, 1905, p. 8)
