Florence Schiedel

Former Fairfield resident Florence E Schiedel, 88, died at 10:15 a.m. Friday, March 12, 1993, at the Manor House Nursing Home in Sigourney, where she had been a resident since July 1989.

Schiedel was born Jan. 8, 1905, at Fairfield, to August and Pearl Ada Fleagle Kirchner. A lifetime resident of the Fairfield community, she worked as a cook at the Bethany Home for approximately 10 years. After her retirement, she worked as desk clerk at the Fairfield Hotel.

She married Henry William Schiedel in January 1923.

Schiedel was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Pauline Boughner of Richland and Shirley Parker of Fairfield; one son, Howard Schiedel of Lomax, Ill.; 18 grandchildren; and several great- and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Kenneth Boughner; and a brother, Carl Kirchner.

The funeral service was at 2 p.m. today at the Raymond Funeral Home. The Rev. Jane Jordan officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.

Memorials have been established to the American Heart Association and the Diabetes Foundation.
