Jerry Raymond Martin, 58, of Sigourney, died Mon. Feb. 18, 2002, at his home.

He was born in Sigourney on Sept. 19. 1943, the son of John Raymond and Thelma Merle (Priest) Martin. He graduated from Sigourney High School in 1961. For six years he served in the United States Army Reserve. He was affiliated with the Gambles Store in Sigourney. He married Holly Ann Weber at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Clear Creek Township on Jan. 24. 1970. He was employed by Natural Gas Pipeline in Harper from 1969 to 1999, and owned and operated Martin Livestock Supply, Inc. and Martin Feed and Seed for over 25 years. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus in Harper, a former member of the Sigourney Jaycees and coached Little League Baseball for many years.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Michelle Williams and Amy; a son, Terry; two grandchildren; two brothers, Gerald and Donald; three sisters, Patricia Steinhart, Alice Greiner and Martha Weber.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Sara Hubbell; and a brother, Charles.

Funeral services were held Thurs. Feb. 21, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sigourney with the Rev. Philip Ryan officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant Grove cemetery near Sigourney.
