Forrest L. Martin, 77, of Sigourney, died Sunday June 4, 1995, at the Keokuk County Health Center following an extended illness.

He was born September 12, 1917, near Martinsburg, to Frank and Ida Puder Martin. He married Ferne Priest on September 28, 1940. She died in June, 1988. They farmed near Martinsburg until he entered the service in January, 1943. He served in the U. S. Army until October, 1945, seeing action in Normandy, Northern France and Germany. He returned to farming and lived southwest of Sigourney until moving into town in 1975.

He is survived by a daughter Joyce Bundy; two sons, Roger and Randy; eight grandchildren; one brother, John Martin; three sisters, Ethel Nimmer, Buelah Dumont and Velma Danels.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers, Myrl and Harold, and three sisters, Gladys Chacey, Maude Pence and Wilma Martin.

Services will be held Wednesday at 11 :00 a.m. at Reynolds Funeral Chapel with Rev. Frances Baumert officiating assisted by Randy Martin. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
