John Austin Floden Sr., 67, died Feb 19, 2004, at the Mahaska Hospital.

He was born April 16, 1936 in Oskaloosa to Arthur Jennings and Martha Fern Freeman Floden. He was graduated from Oskaloosa High School. On Nov. 27, 1980 he married Ardeth L. Stanley Kleinmeyer in Delta. He was a grocery retailer for many years and later owned Roden Foods in What Cheer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ardeth, on June 12, 2003; an infant son, Joey; a brother Arthur Floden Jr.; and a sister Shirley Boender.

Those left to mourn his passing are four sons John Floden, Jim Floden, Bob Kleinmeyer and wife Elania, Joe Kleinmeyer, a daughter Beth Bridges and husband Mike, nine grandchildren, two sisters, Betty Den Hartog, Sharon Scott, two brothers Bob Floden and Paul of Oskaloosa.

Services were at Holm Funeral Home, Sigourney, with the Rev. Frances Baumert officiating. Burial was in South English Cemetery.
