Leonard Abner Mills, 80, of Hillside Manor Nursing Home, Ottumwa, Iowa, passed away Sunday, November 15, 1987 at 10:55 a.m. He was born August 4, 1907 in Hayesville to James and Anna Doser Mills. He attended school in Hayesville and worked for area farmers. He lived with his brother and wife James Edward (Ed) and Lucille Mills for several years and then bought a property in Hedrick. His sister-in-law, Lucille Mills Blevins of Hedrick cared for him several years. In 1983 he entered the Hillside Manor Nursing Home in Ottumwa.

He is survived by his sister-in-law and her husband, Clyde and Lucille Blevins of Hedrick; several nieces and nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, James Edward (Ed) Mills and Floyd Mills.

Services were held November 17 at the Hayesville Church with Rev. Judith Ann Spaulding officiating. Burial was at Pennington cemetery south of Sigourney.
