Terry Wilkening, 49, of Sigourney died Wednesday, January 27, 1993, as a result of an accident near Sigourney.

He was born June 18, 1943, in Tyler, Texas to John and Wilma Schumacher Wilkening. He married Ione Rutter on August 31, 1963, in Minot, N.D.

He graduated from Sigourney High School in 1961 and served in the Air Force. He worked for Keokuk County for several years. He served 14 years on the Sigourney Volunteer Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Richard; a grandson; his parents; two brothers, Max and James; and a sister, Ann Wilkening.

A graveside service was held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday at Pennington Cemetery south of Sigourney, the Rev. Shawn Runquist officiating.
