Clinton "Bud" Hicklin, 74,of Belton, Texas, died Fri., July 19, 1996, at Scott White Hospital in Temple, Texas.

He was born Mar. 26, 1922, in Gill, Colo., to Ralph and Helen Parsons Hicklin. At an early age, he moved with his parents to Delta, Iowa. After receiving his education in Iowa, he then joined the U.S. Army and served in the European Theater during World War II which included the Normandy Invasion, the Battle of the Bulge, and additional major battles throughout the war. He received several medals of honor. After returning from military service, he married Lois Holm in Oskaloosa. In 1953, they moved to Greeley, Colo., where he was a U.S. Government meat inspector. She died Jan. 25, 1982. Later, he married Gerry Jensen in El Paso, Texas. They moved to Belton, Texas in 1990 where they made their home until his death. During his lifetime, he pursued a number of careers including owning the Kersey Meat Processing plant, ranch management in New Mexico, as well as building a stagecoach and a wagon used in the filming of Michener's Centennial. He belonged to Camping Squares and various Carving Clubs.

He is survtved by his wife; his mother, Helen Hicklin; two daughters, Karen Sue Hicklin and Linda Kleineider; three grandchildren; and a sister, Maxine Bryan.

He was preceded in death by his father, and an infant sister.
