Ronald Tollenaar, 53, of Sigourney died, Thursday, August 27, 1992, at University Hospitals in Iowa City.

He was born March 17, 1939, in Ottumwa, the son of Thomas J. and Minnie V. Milburn Tollenaar. He married Wanda Faye Cooper on October 16, 1965, in Hedrick.

He graduated from Sigourney High School in 1958 and attended the U.S. Trade School in Kansas City, Missouri studying Auto Mechanics for one year.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1962-1964. After his discharge from the service, he worked for International Harvester in Ottumwa. They moved to Sigourney in 1971 when he began employment at Seeger Auto Supply, working there for 19 years. He was then employed at Big A Auto Parts in Ottumwa until leaving in February 1992, due to ill health. He was a member of the Sigourney Christian Church.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, James William (Bill) and Thomas Jay; one daughter, Rhonda (Mrs. Brent) Lindemann; his mother, Minnie Tollenaar; one brother, Richard (Rick) Tollenaar of Sigourney; four grandsons; and three granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas J. Tollenaar.

Funeral services were held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 30, at the Sigourney Christian Church with Rev. Dan Sanford officiating. Burial was in West Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
