Death Takes L. Tarrence

Lyle B. Tarrence, 73, 800 S. Sixth St., died Sunday at 8:40 a.m. at the Jefferson County Hospital after a serious illness of one month. He was a retired employe of the Iowa Malleable Iron Co.

Last rites will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald L. Hickman officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Tarrence had been a Fairfield resident for 33 years. He was born Nov. 24, 1900 north east of Richland, the son of Samuel and Shanna Morgan Tarrence. He was married to Iva May Hudson June 23, 1954.

Tarrence was employed at Iowa Malleable for 20 years before his retirement. He was a member of Hopewell Friends Church near Richland.

Surviving are his widow; one daughter, Karen Tarrence, Denver, Colo.; and one son, Lewis Tarrence, Fairfield. Two grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.
