Herman Aaron Yahn, 75, of Clinton, formerly of Hayesville and Ottumwa, died Aug. 28, 1986 at his home.

He was born March 30, 1911 in Hayesville, the son of Henry and Emma Knott Yahn. He married Jean Hayes May 19, 1940 in Lancaster, Missouri. They have lived in Clinton since 1960. Mr. Yahn worked for Champion Packing Company, retiring in 1965. He attended school in Hayesville and Ottumwa and was a veteran of WW II, serving in the Army.

He is survived by his wife, Jean; four sons, Robert, John, Donald and James; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Harold and Elsworth.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.

Services were held Tuesday at the Community church in Hayesville with the Rev. Gary Dobbins officiating and burial was in Pennington cemetery, south of Sigourney.
