HARLEY SNAKENBERG TAKEN BY DEATH FRIDAY; GRADUATE OF LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL
Harley Snakenberg, age 22, died last friday afternoon at the home of his parents near Sigourney. He had suffered from asthma since his childhood and suffered a severe attack about a week ago.Medical treatment previously used in his case was unsuccessful. Harley was born in 1916 on a farm that he lived all his life. Despite his handicap of ill health, he attended school and was graduated from the Sigourney high school. in the class of 1935. While in school he was a member of the high school orchestra and played with the group when they won national honors at the National Music contest in 1935.He had continued his music career up to almost the day he died. He enjoyed reading and kept himself well informed on present day affairs. Surviving, besides his parents, are two bothers, Elmer and Dale ; one sister, Mrs Ed Weber of Webster and a small niece, Lucille Weber. Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon. Burial was made in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
