James F Davis, 78, farmer in the Sigourney community all his life, died at his home northwest of Sigourney on Sunday, April 6. He was born January 16, 1874 near Sigourney and was a son of Martin and Margaret Fry Davis.

On June 20, 1915, he was married to Christina Burmel of Keota, who preceded him in death 12 years ago. Mr. Davis and his brother, H. S. Davis lived and farm together for many years.

He is survived by his brother, H. S. Davis and one sister, Mrs. Henry Stokesberry, both of Sigourney. Preceding him in death where one brother and one sister.

The funeral service was held at neighbors funeral Chapel Wednesday afternoon at 1:30, with the Reverend R. M. Hall, Pastor of the Christian church, in charge. Burial was in West cemetery.
