Clair Edward Denny, 72, of Delta died Jan. 9 at the Mahaska County Hospital in Oskaloosa.

He was born Oct. 21, 1907, in Granville, the son of Ward and Gertie Newport Denny.

He was a retired farmer, lived in the Delta Community all his life and was a member of the Hayesville Community Church.

On January 16, 1932, he married Mildred Feaster at University Park and she survives him.

Also surviving are two daughters, Sally McCombs and Marilyn Denny; a son, Bill Denny; six grandchildren; two brothers, Lawrence and Charles; two sisters Mrs. Mary Morris and Mrs. Agnes Mattix.

Services were held Jan. 12, at the Hayesville Community Church with Rev. Neal Alexander officiating. Burial at the Tioga cemetery. The Fremont Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
