Warren Stephenson, 78, dies

RICHLAND - Warren C. Stephenson, 78, of Richland Sunday at the Jefferson County Hospital.

He was born March 23, 1909, in Richland township, the son of John and Mirthel Hadley Stephenson. He married Cleo Wiggins Aug. 8, 1933 at Ainsworth.

He farmed until 1963 then worked for the state of Iowa until 1976 when he retired and moved to Richland. He was a member of the Richland United Methodist Church.

Stephenson is survived by his wife; a son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Harriett and a grandson, Scott all of Atlanta.

He was preceded in death by one son, John.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Gould Funeral Home in Richland with the Rev. Jane Jordan officiating. Burial will be in the Friends Cemetery, Richland.

Visitation will be tonight form 7 to 8 at the funeral home.

Memorials have been established to the Richland Methodist Church or the Richland Volunteer Fire Department.
