SIGOURNEY - Ollie Ryder, 84, of Sigourney died Feb. 5, 1994, at Keokuk County Health Center.
He was born Jan. 2, 1910, in rural Sigourney to James and Mamie Reed Ryder. He married Ruby Bird on Sept. 27, 1941, in Lancaster, Mo.
He attended Sigourney schools and served with the Army Cavalry. He worked at a mechanic most of his life. He was a truck driver for many local businesses. He was a school bus driver for Sigourney Community School District.
He is survived by two sons, Orlan of Las Vegas, Nev., and Lowell of Webster; a daughter, Rosalyn Smith of Marengo; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mabel Showman of Martinsburg and Bessie Showman of Ottumwa; and a brother, Don of Mauriceville, Texas.
