Bert Flanegin, 86, of Sigourney. died March 29, 1992, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

He was born July 22, 1905, in Keokuk County to John and Marietta Eldridge Flanegin. He married Rena Christy on March 19, 1930, in Nevada, Mo. He moved to Carol County, Mo., in 1912 graduating from Tina High School in 1924. He had worked at Long View Farms with show horses until moving back to Iowa in 1946. He lived and farmed in the Sigourney area.

He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Betty Fry, Reta Streigle and Doris Vales; two sons, Jack and Wayne; 15 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Mable and Lola Flanegin and Ruth Colliver; and two brothers, Paul and Eugene.

Funeral services will be Thursday, April 2, 1992, at Holm Funeral Home in Sigourney, the Rev. Frances Baumert officiating. Burial will be in Pennington Cemetery near Sigourney.
