Benedict Peck Dies Suddenly

KEOTA - Benedict S. Peck, 56, died suddenly Wednesday evening, Nov. 21, at his home near Keota.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 24 at 10 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic church in Kinross with Father Harry H. Linnenbrink in charge with interment in St. Mary Cemetery at Keota. The Rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m. tonight at the Powell Funeral Home in Keota.

Peck was born in Jefferson county August 8, 1917 the son of Charles and Lucy Lisk Peck and attended the rural schools here. He was married February 26, 1943 to Dorothy Britten at Keota. They farmed near Brighton for one year and since that time lived on rural route Keota. He had been Keokuk County NFO president the past five years.

He is survived by his wife and seven children: Mrs. Roy Rosbacka, Osseo, Minn.; Mrs. Vince Weber, LaPorte City, Iowa; Arthur of Kinross, Raymond of Keota, Marlene, a student at SUI in Ames and Darlene and Charles at home.

He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Martha Fritz, Washington; Mrs. Victory Deutsch of East Pleasant Plain and four grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents, four children, three brothers and one sister.
