I see a William Grant Chidester born Oct 15, 1872 in Monroe Co., Iowa and died 1951 there. Here is an obit linked to one of his family members listing him as a relative:

There is a William F. Chidester of the correct age listed in the 1900 Red Fork, Desha Co., Arkansas census. Says born Iowa June 1871 with parents born Iowa and wife Martha E. born July 1874 in Arkansas. Had been married 5 years with child born in Arkansas.

By 1920 they are seen in Lamar Co., Texas.

May want to search in Texas for his death for further info.
