William, You might want to contact the Jones co. gene society in Anamosa for any assistance they can provide in determining what churches were in the area in that time period. Washington twp is on the border of Dubuque & Jackson counties so you'd have to take that into consideration as well. If the Leahy's were of the Catholic faith, the archdiocese of Dubuque may be able to help also. I would concentrate on the 3 mo old indexed as Arther on the 1870. He is enumerated as born in May. Dick
