Drowning deaths...

Am seeking info re: the drowning deaths of Amos Roe (father) and young sons Ethan and Jerome. Family tradition states that all three drowned in the Wapsipinicon river near Olin, IA in 1862, when Amos attempted to save his sons. Amos Roe was married to Eliza Faust. Would appreciate factual confirmation.
