Silvia Hazelrig - Child of Lydia Harvey & Felden Hazelrig

HARVEY, HAZELRIG

I have an ancestor, Silvia Hazelrig Livermore, who was born in Jones County, IA Jun 1, 1849 and passed on Oct 14, 1919 in Tennessee. On her death certificate her parents are listed as Felden Hazelrig and Lydia Harvey.

In the online Jones Co Iowa Compiled Marriages I have Lydia P Harvey marrying Fielden Hazelrigg on Apr 4, 1848. I then find in the 1856 Iowa State Census for Fairview, IA a S C Hazelrig age 7 living with AM Harvey age 77. In the 1860 census I also see Sylvia (11) with Amasa Harvey (80) and Nancy (61). I feel pretty sure that Lydia P is a daughter of Amasa and Nancy Harvey. I see that Lydia Harvey later married Squire Graham on Oct 7, 1859. They moved to Woodbury County, IA as referenced in the History of Jones County, IA book on page 560 in the text for Nancy Brundage Harvey Huggins and referenced in several online family trees.

With all that information I'm wondering about a couple of things that I don't know if someone can determine from the marriage record for Lydia and Fielden or from a birth record from Sylvia or maybe even from newspaper sources.

1) Can we confirm that the Lydia Harvey who married Fielden Hazelrigg is the same person who married Squire Graham? I'm assuming that with Sylvia living with Amasa and Nancy that they must be her grandparents, but I'm not sure what happened to Lydia during that time between marriages if it is the same Lydia.

2) Is there any information on the Hazelrigg (Hagelrig) family in Jones County? Land records or other things that might help me tie information together? I'd love to be able to figure out who this Felden (Fielden) is. I see that there is a Charles Henry Hazelrigg and his family buried in the Wilcox Cemetery in Jones County who passed away Sept 1846 and his wife Eleanor Aug 23, 1838. I have nothing to tie Fielden to this family, but it sounds like a probably connection. After Charles and Eleanor have passed I see several Hazelrig children living in Linn County, IA in 1850 with Carin and Mary Marshall. They are James, Elizabeth and Andrew. (Family 684) No idea who these folks are or what the connection might be, but they appear to be the children of Charles and Eleanor.

Please let me know if I need to provide clearer information, more information, or any other things that would help decipher what I'm looking for. If you'd like my direct email please let me know and I'm happy to provide that or phone as requested.

Thank you!
