Sarah ~ Thank you so much for the information and the time you spent looking up the articles. Not good information from a family standpoint, but genealogy is what it is & we can't change what happened in the past ~ it's still part of the history. Hubs didn't think I should put it in my family story, but I can word it in such a way as to not be offensive (young grandchildren ~ pre- to teens). I really knew in my instincts that this was my gggrandfather. Too many coincidences ~ prominent farmer in the aree, where they lived, his age, & now with your info the age of the daughter which matches what I had in my records as this family's oldest daughter), a 1900 census that showed another daughter & son had moved about as far away in Iowa as they could get, etc. The oldest daughter went on to marry into a good family & had a beautiful family of her own, but unfortunately died in her late 20s. Again, I thank you for your help in solidifying what I was pretty sure was correct. Hope you have a wonderful day ~ you certainly made mine!
