3 brothers named John, William John, and Simon(Mike)and a sister named Johanna came to America from Parish of Belmont, Cork County, Ireland.Simon settled in. Newark,Ohio. The others settled in Dubuque county,Iowa to make their homes. The sister married a Mr. Mahoney of Dubuque county and had no children. I am a descendant of the fourth child of ten children born to William John Drummey (born 1825 in Ireland and died 1893 in Ryan, Iowa) and Johanna Ahern(born 1826. in Ireland and died 1893 Lisella Ryan.)They were married on 4/10/1849 in Cork,Ireland. My great grandfather's name was Samuel Simon DRUMMY (note the last name change) My grandfather was his eldest and. Had the same name,as did my father and my brother. I was told by my father that some of the family shortened the name to DRUMMY after they came to the USA, but that we were all related.
