Francis Buttermer

Seeking information on Francis Buttermer, native of Ireland, who is known to have lived in the Monticello area during the 1860s. In early 1870, he removed to Atchison, Kansas where he shot and killed both his wife and himself. He had a son named William who married a Johanna Donahue about the same time. William was born in Massachusetts about 1853. The murder/suicide was written up in several newspapers. Could someone check the Monticello area paper, please? Incident occurred on February 9, 1870.
