James F. Brock

BROCK OR COUNTRYMAN

I am trying to find information on my g-grandparents, James F and Adelaide Countryman Brock. I believe they lived in or around Wyoming, Jones county, IA 1855 - 1870. My grandfather, Alexander George Brock was born in that area around 1855-57 as was his two sisters, Nancy and Evaline.

James was in the Civil War, serving in Company K, 24th Infantry Regiment. His residence is listed as Wyoming, Iowa. He enlisted 8/9/1862 and mustered out in Savannah, GA 7/17/1865.

My family then moved to Centralia, KS where they are listed on the 1870 federal census.

If you have any information on their arrival in IA (from New York) or what his occupation was, it would be appreciated.
