Sally, Thank you for your information. The George Waldren you mentioned may be an Uncle, I will have to check that out. The information that I have on James and Mary Reede Waldren, I have from a grandson of their daughter Mary. I also have found them in the 1850 Marion Co. Indiana Census and the 1856 Jones Co Census.
James and Mary were married Oct 4, 1828.Children were: Enoch,(Sep 22, 1829); Catharine (Dec 19, 1830); Philip (Mar 11, 1832); Samuel (June 6, 1834); Mary (my line - Feb 10, 1836); Sarah, (Jan 11, 1838); Nancy Delila (Oct 27, 1839); James Lewis (July 9, 1841); Martha Eliza (May 5, 1843). In the 1850 Census there is an additional child Ruth listed as age 6. and according to Thomas Waldren quoted in a newspaper interview in 1870 he mentiones they had 14 children. It seems as though Mary may have died sometime after 1850 and James and some of his family members moved to Jones Co. In the 1856 census it shows James,(no Mary) Sarah, James, Martha, Ruth, Mayland (which must be Mahlon).
Would you happen to have any information as to when and where Mary died?
I don't have any information as to what happened to the children except for my line which is their daughter Mary. She was born near Indianapolis, Indiana and moved to Jones Co sometime before 1856. Mary married Abel Jewett Feb 24, 1856 and they had 3 children. Hiram Uroy (Nov 28, 1856) Mary Eliza Jane (Feb 25, 1859) Ruth Helen (July 3, 1861).
