Last rites for Edwin H. Bicknese, 76, were held at Sacred Heart Catholic church, Oxford Junction, March 21 with the Rev. Robert Ament officiating. Burial was in Mayflower cemetery. Pallbearers were Jeff and Michael Vacek, Rick Koranda, Delbert Hodgden, Dennis Von Sprecken and Allen Hronik.

Mr. Bicknese died at his home near Oxford Junction March 18.

The son of William and Charlotte Daehn Bicknese, he was born near Massillon, June 29, 1911. He attended school in Cedar county.

He married Eleanor Henak at Sacred Heart Catholic church Feb. 7, 1942. The couple farmed in Cedar and Jones county. He also worked for Rotman Motors and managed the Hi-Ho Bowling lanes, both in Maquoketa, for several years. He was active in the Farm Bureau and served as coach and umpire in many baseball games. He was a member of Sacred Heart church.

Mr. Bicknese is survived by his wife; 5 daughters, Joyce Slouha and Mrs. Duane (Jean) Feuss, Oxford Junction; Joni Bicknese, Manchester, Mo. and Janet and Jackie Bicknese, Cedar Rapids; 3 sons, Jerry, Woodward; John, Maple Plain, Minn. and James. Oxford Junction; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mrs. J. V. (Norma) Pulliam, Stockton, Calif. and Mrs. Arnold (Irene) Sobotka, Oxford Junction and a brother, William Jr., Lost Nation. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters.
