Monticello - James H. Green, 49, of Monticello, formerly of Rockwell, died Tuesday (Dec. 5, 1989) of injuries received in a car accident on Highway 151 near Langworthy.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. today at First Congregational Church of Christ, Monticello, with the Rev. Duane Ferguson officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Monticello.
Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello, is in charge of arrangements.
He was born Feb. 16, 1940, in Sioux City, a son of Lester and Charlotte (Leuelfing) (sic Luelfing) Green. He was a 1957 graduate of Rockwell High School and later attended North Iowa Area Community College, the University of Northern Iowa and the University of Iowa.
He married Shirley Etherington on Sept. 11, 1960, in Clear Lake. He had been employed by State Farm Insurance since 1966. Mr. Green was a member of Burns Masonic Lodge AT and AM and St Luke's Methodist Church, Monticello.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley, Monticello; two daughters, Jane Hatfield, West Branch, and Shari Green, Winter Park, Fla.; one son, Jim of Malcomb, Ill.; his mother, Charlotte Green, Cheyenne, Wyo.; and one brother, Richard of Cheyenne, Wyo.
He was preceded in death by his father.
