SCOTCH GROVE - Funeral services were held Jan.28 for Rhinehard H. Helgens, 81, who died Jan. 25 in the Monticello hospital. Rev. Harold L. Naig, pastor of the St. Matthew Lutheran church, was in charge of the services. Burial was in the Oakwood cemetery.

Pallbearers included Galen Helgens, Lester Zimmerman, Fred Collman, Clifford Helgens, Lyle Behrends, Melvin Dickman, Robert Appleby and Robert Coggins.

A son of Mr. and Mrs. Harm Helgens, he was born in Wayne township and educated in the local school. He was married Feb. 15, 1912, to Marie G. Leesekamp. While living in the Scotch Grove area for many years the family occupied the farm now occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hanssen.

He is survived by a son, Raymond; two daughters, Roberta, Monticello; and Mrs. Lavern Hoffman, Omega, Wash.; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.

Also one sister, Mrs. Anna Siebels, Scotch Grove; and three brothers and four sisters preceded him in death.
