OLIN - Mrs. Mary L. Sietsema, 84, died Friday, Feb. 13 at St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a brief illness.

Funeral services were held at the Murdock Funeral home, Center Point, on Monday, Feb. 16, at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Lloyd Dutro, pastor of the Olin St. Paul's United Methodist church conducted the service. Interment was in the Dunkard cemetery, south of Center Point.

She was born Sept. 27, 1885, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William W. Merrill, Decatur, Ill. She was married to Oldig R. Sietsema, March 1, 1918, at San Antonio, Texas.

Mrs. Sietsema operated a grocery store and was Postmistress at Robins, Iowa, for many years.

She was a member of the Presbyterian church and of the Retired Civil Service organization.

Following their retirement, Mr. and Mrs. Sietsema lived at Hale for several years. While living at Hale, they had regularly attended the St. Paul's United Methodist church (formerly E.U.B.) at Olin. About four years ago they moved to Center Point and she had made her home there since that time.

Survivors include two daughters: Mrs. Bernard (Elizabeth Lou) Meyer, Lafayette; and Mrs. Paul (Joan) Halfman, Savanna, Ill.; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Frank (Dorothy) Peters, Minneapolis, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nov. 7, 1968; her parents and two sons.
