28 October 1954 - The Anamosa Eureka

Wilhelm H. Bock, 89, died at Clemens' nursing home in Anamosa at 11:15 p.m. Tuesday after a long illness. Mr. Bock spent the last year and a half at the nursing home. Previous to that he lived eight years with his son, Carl F. Bock, in Anamosa.

Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, at McNamara funeral home with Rev. H. E. Hahn officiating. Burial will be at Inland cemetery, Bennett.

Born Oct. 31, 1864, at Jackson, Mo., the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Bock, he spent his boyhood in Missouri and then moved to Kansas. Feb. 2, 1890, he was married to Wilhelmina Brinkman.

Mr. Bock had spent the last 50 years in Iowa. He farmed until ill health forced him to retire.

He was preceded in death by his wife, March 24, 1933, and one daughter, Lydia Williams.

Surviving are two children, Mrs. Fred Ford, Tipton, and Carl F. Bock, Anamosa; 20 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. A sister, Mrs. Minnie Buerstetta, Lincoln, Nebr., also survives.
