Funeral services for Mrs. Ernest J. (E. Albertine) Howard, 76, former Cedar county resident, were held at Sacred Heart Catholic church in Monticello April 12 with burial in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Howard died suddenly April 9 at John McDonald hospital in Monticello.

The daughter of Thomas and Mary Ellen Lyons Brenner, she was born at Danbury, Dec. 21, 1898 and was educated in the Clinton schools. She married Ernest Howard April 20, 1925.

They lived in rural county until 1952 when they moved to Iowa City. They operated the Cedar Bluff store for a number of years. They had lived in Monticello for 9 years.

Mrs. Howard is survived by her husband, 3 daughters, Mrs. Richard (Mary Ellen) Willson, Frederick, Md.; Mrs. Kenneth (Marilyn) Peterson, Monticello and Mrs. Robert (Alice) Luthro, Dubuque; a son, Duane C., Cedar Rapids; 18 grandchildren and a sister, Sister Mary Thomas VVM, Dubuque.
