Ernest Clifton Wooder, 89, died at Mercy hospital, Iowa City, Sept. 18, following a brief illness. He had been in the Clarence nursing home for 4 years.

The son of William and Adeline Wolfe Wooder, he was born May 30, 1883. He was married to Ila Bell Hotz Sept. 18, 1912. Most of Mr. Wooder's life was spent in Jones county where he lived in the Hale community.

He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Erwin Hartig, Tipton; 3 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, Inez Switzer, Springville and Elsie Houstman, Olin.
