OXFORD JUNCTION - Memorial service for Pfc. Robert Carstensen will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24, in the Methodist church with Kenneth J. Harden, student pastor and the American Legion in charge.

Mr. and Mrs. John Carstensen were notified recently by the defense department their son must now be presumed dead. He had been listed as missing in Korea since January, 1951.

Pfc. Carstensen, a native of Oxford Junction, enlisted in the army in 1949 and received his training at Camp Chaffee, Ark. He was discharged in February 1950 but was called back in to service in September, 1950.

He was sent to Fort Sheridan, Ill. for a few weeks of training before being sent to Korea in October.

Surviving besides his parents are a brother Charles, his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Tom Carstensen, and his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Chan Hodgden, all of Oxford Junction.
