William Joseph Rushford, 57, died unexpectedly at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 1, at his home on the Ridge road.
Rites were conducted at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, July 3, at the McNamara funeral home with Rev. Thomas Rhomberg, Monticello, officiating. Burial was in Holy Cross cemetery, Anamosa.
Serving as casketbearers were Paul Yarrington, Lee Brady, Clarence Dearborn, John Ronen, Lawrence Shanney and Lawrence LaBarge.
Mr. Rushford was born Oct. 18, 1896. He was engaged in farming and also worked at the Dewees Quarries, Stone City.
Surviving are his wife, Evelyn Mere Rushford, and two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Drumbarger and Mrs. Edward Barnes, both of Stone City.
