OLIN - Leroy L. Leibrock, 71, owner and operator of the Plaza theater here, died Thursday, March 25, while enroute to Iowa City for a medical check-up. Mr. Leibrock had been in ill health for several months.

Funeral service was held Saturday, March 27, at 2 p.m. in the Methodist church. Rev. George D. Gaide officiated. Burial was in Olin cemetery.

Casket bearers were N. R. Waggoner, R. B. Mason, Oscar Dethman, Ira Kearns, Ernest Peck and James Cousins.

Mr. Leibrock had served as Jones county engineer for two years during World War II and had operated the theater in Olin for the last 14 years.

Mr. Leibrock was born Oct. 18, 1882, in Elkader. He was the son of Louise and Frank Leibrock. He graduated from the Elkader high school at the age of 16, then attended and graduated from Iowa State college School of Engineering in 1909.

In 1915 he married Ann Stevens, who died in 1919. In 1920 he was married to Susie Elizabeth Bailey More.

Mr. Leibrock held engineering positions in Arizona before returning to Iowa where he held mining and highway engineering position, being a resident engineer for the Iowa Highway Commision for several years. Bad health forced his retirement. In 1939 he purchased the Plaza Theater which he operated until his death.

During his active years he gave much time to Boy Scout work, having organized a troop in a Presbyterian church in Des Moines and for eight years was its scoutmaster. In the Congregational church in Elkader, he organized a troop of scouts. Several years ago he assisted in organizing a local troop of scouts.

In 1920 he joined the Masonic Fraternity in Des Moines. Later on he was master of the Masonic lodge in Elkader. He was a district lecturer for many years. He was an active member of Ancient Landmark chapter in Olin.

He was a member of the local Methodist church.

Surviving him are one sister, Mrs. Grace Leibrock Morse, Elkader; a brother, Fred, Milwaukee; his wife and son, James Kent More, Chicago, and other relatives.
