OLIN - Clarence F. Bendon, 72, died at 1 a.m. Friday, March 19, after suffering a severe heart attack Thursday evening.

Funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, March 22, at the Campbell funeral home. Burial was in the Olin cemetery.

Clarence Frances Bendon was born in Iowa county May 4, 1881. Jan. 10, 1911, he was married to Pearl Lythe at Council Bluffs. Four children, 3 sons and one daughter were born. One son, Ira, died at the age of four years.

Family lived one year in Iowa county when they moved to a farm near Persia in Harrison county. During the years 1918 and 1919 he was driver for a doctor. He was a mason in his earlier life and in 1926 he moved back to the same farm, managing the farm and doing mason work. In 1947 they sold the farm and moved to Clarence, where they lived one and a half years, when they moved to their present home northwest of Olin.

He is survived by his wife, and children, Glen, Olin, Joseph, Cedar Rapids, and Edna Allmand, Clarence; nine grandchildren, two brothers, Charles, Payette, Idaho, and Clem, Norfolk, Nebr.; and one sister, Bertha Henderson, Neola. Five brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
