OXFORD JUNCTION - Thomas M. Blahnik, 89, died at his home Monday, Nov. 23, after suffering a stroke. He was found unconscious Friday, Nov. 20, by his son, Joseph.

Funeral service was held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, at the Hayden funeral home with Rev. Kenneth Harden officiating. Mrs. Otto Koranda and Mrs. Hans Ahrendsen sang and Mrs. Hayden accompanied them at the organ.

Serving as casket bearers were Frank Kolarik, Hans Ahrendsen, Frank Benhart, George Vacek, Frank Henek and Charles Trinka. Burial was in Mayflower cemetery.

Thomas Blahnik was born Sept. 30, 1884, in Domazlice, Bohemia, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Vince Blahnik. He came to America when he was 20 years old.

In 1892 he was married to Anna Vrack in Chicago, and shortly after they came to reside on the farm five miles west of Oxford Junction, where he lived until his death. Mrs. Blahnik died Dec. 23, 1952.

He is survived by two sons, Joseph, Oxford Junction, and Frank, Monmouth; three daughters, Mrs. Marie Milota, Lost Nation; Mrs. Anna Sobotka, Davenport and Mrs. Rose Gardner, Oxford Junction, and five grandchildren.
