H. H. Rumple, 78, Jones county pioneer, died at noon Sunday, July 26, in Mercy hospital, Anamosa, following a long illness.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Goettsch funeral home, with Rev. H. A. James, pastor of the Methodist church, officiating.

Burial will be in Riverside cemetery.

Mr. Rumple was born Nov. 3, 1874, in Buffalo township, the son of Elins and Etwina Ratler Rumple.

He has farmed in Jones county all his life.

Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Mrs. John Allen, Viola; a brother, Will, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
