Roscoe H. Lincoln, 65, died unexpectedly Saturday at 1:20 p.m. at St. Luke's hospital in Cedar Rapids where he had been convalescing.

Family had expected to bring Mr. Lincoln to the Anamosa home of his son, Robert, on Sunday. Condition took a turn for the worse Saturday and death came before any of the family could be summoned to his bedside.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 1:30 pm. at the Congregational church in Anamosa. Rev. C.V.R. DeJong, pastor of the Presbyterian church at Marion, will conduct the service. Goettsch Funeral home, Anamosa, is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in Amber cemetery.

Mr. Lincoln's death came as a result of injuries sustained when the car he was driving collided with the Milwaukee railroad Hiawatha at a crossing in Marion on May 21.

His wife was killed instantly in the accident. Her services were held May 25 from the Congregational church at Anamosa, with which they were affiliated before moving to Marion.

Mr. Lincoln farmed three miles north of Anamosa for 21 years prior to moving to Marion in January, 1951. He was born Oct. 11, 1887, near Center Junction, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Lincoln. He graduated from Center Junction high school and attended Epworth college, near Dubuque.

He was active in formation of the Rural Fire department at Anamosa.

Mr. Lincoln is survived by three children all living in Anamosa, Lowell, Robert and Mrs. Glen Simmons; a brother, Arthur, Wyoming; and two sisters, Mrs. Frank Byerly, Onslow, and Mrs. Julia Witt, Boise, Idaho. There are four grandchildren.

Lloyd Robertson is a brother of the late Mrs. Lincoln.
