April 27, 1953 - The Anamosa Journal

WYOMING - Mrs. Chris Hansen, 71, Wyoming, died at 5:45 p.m. Sunday, April 26, at St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a long illness.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 29, at the Wyoming Lutheran church. Rev. R. F. Gronewald will officiate.

Body is at the Wallace funeral home.

WYOMING - Funeral service for Mrs. Chris A. Hansen, 71, who died in St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids, Sunday, April 26, was held Wednesday afternoon, April 29, at the Wyoming American Lutheran church.

Rev. R. F. Gronewald officiated. Mrs. Henry Petersen and Mrs. Ralph Orth sang a duet accompanied by Mrs. LaFayette Bahnsen.

Casket bearers were Malvern Martensen, Raymond Martensen, Henry Brodersen, Harold Bramer, Acel Catlett and Herman Carstensen. Interment was in the Wyoming cemetery.

Jennie Patria Thomsen, daughter of Jens A. and Anna Marie Thomsen, was born Dec. 23, 1881, in Hallsted, Schleswig Holstein, Germany.

In 1882 she came to America with her parents, who settled on a farm in Jones county. Feb. 26, 1908, she was united in marriage to Chris A. Hansen. They lived on a farm in the Wyoming vicinity until the fall of 1949, when they moved to Wyoming.

She is survived by her husband and three sisters, Mrs. C. A. Asmussen, Coloridge, Nebr.; Mrs. Anna Brodersen, Wyoming, and Mrs. L. F. Bramer, Anamosa. Her parents, two sisters and one brother preceded her in death.
