Last rites for Julius B. Lorenzen, 89, Olin, were held Dec. 15 at the Hayden Funeral home in Olin with the Rev. Lloyd Dutro officiating. Soloist was Loren Hartwig with Linda Rogers as organist. Pallbearers were Virtus Lorenzen, Carl and Louis Levsen, Herman Dethmann, Laurence Ruther and Delbert Fisher. Burial was in the Olin cemetery.

Mr. Lorenzen died at the Clarence Nursing home Dec. 12, following a long illness. He was injured in an automobile accident south of Olin in 1965 and had been in failing health since that time. He had been in the nursing home for more than 2 years.

The son of Martin L. and Berdina Christopherson Lorenzen, he was born near Wyoming Aug. 11, 1881. In 1897 the family moved to the farm southeast of Olin that became their home until 1943 when they retired and moved to Olin.

Mr. Lorenzen farmed most of his life with a special interest in the feeding of cattle and other livestock.

In 1913 he became a charter member of the Citizen's Savings bank in Wyoming and served on the board of directors of the bank for 50 years.

He is survived by a brother, Louis M., Olin and a sister, Mrs. Amanda Levsen, Stanwood. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bennie, who died in 1918 and 4 sisters, Mrs. Lena Dethmann and Mrs. Anna Levsen and 2 sisters who died in infancy.
