A Requiem Mass for Mrs. Tillie Benischek, 79, Oxford Junction, was offered at the Sacred Heart church at 10 a.m. Thursday (today).

Mrs. Benischek died Dec. 8 at the Jackson County hospital, Maquoketa. She had been a resident of the Hoffman Home, Maquoketa, the past year.

Tillie Tatak was born in Moravia, Czechoslovakia, Nov. 2, 1981. She came to the United States in 1912 and lived in Chicago, Ill. She was married to Albert Benischek in 1916. They farmed northeast of Oxford Junction until retiring and moved to Oxford Junction in 1958.

She is survived by 4 sons, Raymond, Paul and Otto, all of Oxford Junction and Stanley, Davenport; 4 daughters, Mrs. Donald (Elsie) Shaw, Maquoketa; Mrs. Carl (Rita) Chapel, Boulder, Colo.; Mrs. Donald (Pauline) Twachtman, Springville; Mrs. Andrew (Marlene) Werden, Mechanicsville and a brother, Victor Tatak, Tipton. Survivors also include 32 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, George.

Rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Dec. 9 at the Hayden Funeral home. Burial at the Mayflower cemetery. Hayden Funeral service in charge.
