OXFORD JUNCTION - Funeral service was held Monday morning from Sacred Heart church here for John Hurych, 68, who died Friday in a Cedar Rapids hospital after a short illness.

Body was taken to the Polansky funeral home, Cedar Rapids, and brought here Monday morning. Rev. Joseph Gregor conducted the service, with mass sung by the church choir. Mrs. Tillie Coon at the organ.

Casketbearers were Vit Lasack, George Lawrence, Frank Kolarik, Raymond Bisinger, Louie G. Lasack and Fred Lasack. Burial was in Mayflower cemetery.

Mr. Hurych was born in Czechoslovakia April 1, 1882. He was employed for many years as a miller at the Quaker Oats company in Cedar Rapids, retiring four years ago. He was married to Theresa Siemers, Oxford Junction, who survives; also a daughter, Loretta, at home; two brothers, Wencil, Cedar Rapids, and Joseph, Oakland, Calif.; and seven sisters, Mrs. J. W. Darragh, Mrs. M. J. Fruth and Mrs. James Corporan, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Olga Vane, Oakland; Mrs. Ben Roushar, Marion, Mrs. Anna Knause, Des Moines, and Mrs. Emma Case, Omaha, Nebr. A number of cousins and relatives by marriage live here in Oxford Junction.
